DAy 137- Monday, May 18

We were blessed to have the little girls stay with us for the day.

We were NOT blessed to wake up to THIS....

Well, it is moisture, at least. I would have preferred rain since that would mean the temperatures were higher, but I guess I'll be thankful for the moisture - the potatoes need it. Except I don't think there has been enough snow yet to give the potatoes a decent 'drink'.

Since it was so nasty outside, the girls occuppied themselves inside.

First, they watched TWO movies before Grampa and Gramma got out of bed......

When the movies were over, I put them to work washing the dessert dishes from the night before. (Victoria and Michael had pre-washed them and put them in the dishwasher - unaware that the dishwasher is broken - so the job was really pretty much done already. The girls protested, but they are obedient and with a minimum of grumbling did the job. I think they started to actually enjoy themselves after a bit. They washed their own dishes for the rest of the day, as well.

Sophia drew pictures while her big sisters did dishes.

Each of the girls made a birthday card for Uncle Dan, who will be celebrating his 20th birthday without his family next week. I will put the cards in the mail to (hopefully) surprise him before then. (I do not think he reads this blog)

After the art project, we all participated in making some bird feeders to hang on the windows.

The girls each decorated one of them with stickers.....

Because of the cold outside temperature, we have to wait to put them outside......it is too cold to wash the windows so we can attach the feeders with the suction cups. Hopefully, the suction cups will hold the bottles and we can watch birds up close as they come to eat.

After such a strenuous project, Grampa sat down to read his Bible........

.....while the girls played with the log blocks.

We took the girls home after a quick supper. They were so excited to see their baby brother they did not even notice that their mom got her hair cut while they were gone!
