Day 236 - Sunday, Sept 6

When you've been without a drain for 24 hours, you get a pile of dirty dishes......

By noon, the 'roto rooter' guy arrived to find where the blockage was in our sewer system.

Jim helped with the not so nice job.......the look on his face says 'something' is rather distasteful, to say the least.

Once the drain was clear (about 3 hours later), we went to watch the Roughriders beat the BlueBombers at Rob and Lana's. Their TV is now set up downstairs so it is not a distraction to the girls during school hours.

I took several photos of Titus - who always obliges with a different expression each time I point the camera at him....

After the football game, Jim was treated to the NASCAR race.......

During breaks in the action, Robert worked on organizing the basement. (They had just moved bedrooms/playrooms around)

A couple more Ty faces......

Mike and Victoria came over in time to 'watch' the race with us. Really, though, since Jim mutes the TV and listens to his computer, we just visit around the race - paying closer attention when there is a crash or Jim points something out. The kids also perk up if they see 'Kurt Busch' on the screen......they're a little behind the times though - Kurt is now Jim's 'second favorite'....Kurt's little brother Kyle has taken first spot. :D

Upstairs, the girls patiently waited for the race to be over so they could come home again with Gramma and Grampa.

It was pretty late when we got home and they crawled into bed.

Day 171 - Sunday, june 21

The day started with Robert, Michael, and Andrew playing in a ball tournament for Robert's branch of the ATB (bank). It was great fun watching ball again - it has been awhile.

To view the album I made from this event, click on this link for my facebook album.

I ended the day by driving to Rocky to rescue my husband....his truck was broke down (again) and he had a couple 'rain days'.

Day 161~ Thursday, June 11

My main activity for today was a visit with Mike, Victoria, and Kaden. Since Mike has been working at a new job (Carpet Cleaning) he is home every night for supper. This is a great blessing for his family and a bonus for us - a run up to their place for supper is easier when he is home for supper every night instead of just once.

Kaden loves to play hockey - and his dad is always happy to oblige him.

We went outside for a few minutes to check out their new grass.....Kaden stopped first at the picnic table and chairs that are just his size.

The new lawn looks great!

Day 136...Sunday, May 17

This is the way Jim prepares for having the kids/grandkids out for the day.....

He likes to make sure the floor is clean for the little ones to be playing on.

While the day was still sunny and warm, Elizabeth took her little brother for a walk - trying to get him to go to sleep. Look at those chubby bare feet sticking out from under the blanket!

The wind whipped up - seriously. We retired to the house where we talked.....

...... and talked.

In spite of Grampa's clean floors, Kaden managed to pick something up on his little bare foot - here he is trying to pick it off......

By the time Jim fired up the grill, the wind had subsided and it was again safe (if not warm) to stand outside. The boys kept Dad company as he grilled the chicken. By the sounds of the laughter, they were having a good time ......

After supper, Vinj (who arrived late, with his family) had his own 'Dad time' while he washed the dishes and Jim watched and visited.....

Seth and Kaden found the kid sized chairs and claimed one each. Seth still wants to 'love on' his cousin......

Titus sits with Grampa, who is listening to someone talk (what a surprise)........

Seth and Kaden entertained us with a duet........

And, since Titus was sitting with Grampa, Lana took the opportunity to sit on her husband's lap......

Another wonderful 'family day'.

Day 101 - April 12, Resurrection Sunday

"Easter" Sunday.....although I prefer the title "Resurrection Sunday"......a good excuse for a FAMILY DAY.....and Turkey Dinner....

Here are the components of a fun day:

Start with a chocolate egg hunt in the living room.....

Then take a 'bucket ride' on Grampa's tractor.......

Go up to the barn loft for a game of "Old Guy Basketball"....in deference to the fact that Robert seems to sprain his ankle every time they play BBall conventionally. Since they play "OGBB", the boys were able to convince their dad to play too......

Lots of room for two games up there!

Take a nap......

Play peek-a-boo around the 'greenhouse shelf' ........

.....While Grampa reads about when Jesus gave Himself for us and then rose from the dead.....

Bundle up a bit and sit around the fire.......

Another fun day together....although we missed 5 family members who could not be with us......
Vinj, Kath, Seth, Keltie, and Daniel.

Day 97....Wednesday, April 8

Sophia's 6th Birthday!

Need I say more?

Sophia Rose.....6 years old today.....dressed like a pink flower.

A yummy birthday cake...looking somewhat like a flower, as well.

Sophia's family came to celebrate with her. We are so glad she is part of our family!

Uncle Andrew and Cousin Kaden....Uncle Andrew must have worn a hat all day.

Sophie's baby brother, Titus having a chat with his Gramma Berg.

2nd Cousin, Jessica

Cousin Seth....dressed as a flower

Sophia's cousins, Seth and Kaden......going on an adventure together. Kaden has just started walking!

Uncle Michael and Auntie Victoria

Little Bro, Ty

Kaden, again

Auntie Kathryn and Seth

Uncle Andrew's dog, Thor.....wearing the 'flower'

The littlest flower....James Titus

We missed the Grampas - Grampa Hutch was sick and Grampa Berg had to work.
We also missed Uncle Dan, Auntie Keltie, and Jessica's man, Brock (he was sick too). It would have been our first chance to really meet him.
Item of note: FOUR of Sophie's gifts came in SUPERMAN gift bags! LOL....not your normal choice for a 6 year old girl, but Sophia LOVES superman!
