Day 177 - Saturday, June 27

As I travelled to Camrose this afternoon, I stopped to say hello to these guys.

Many of them were babies.....

Day 176 - Friday, June 26

I went to Rocky to have supper with my husband.

On the way home, I tried to take a photo of the bright lights of the Ponoka Stampede - not too successfuly, I'll admit....but not bad, considering I was driving at the time.

Day 175, Thursday, June 25

I watched Vinjelu play soccer tonight. I was surprised that there are enough adult males in Wetaskiwin to make up a league. Vinj's team is largely internationals.

I'm so glad Vinj has this opportunity to participate in HIS sport.

Day 174....Wednesday, June 24

We drove back to Rocky this morning to pick Jim's truck up from where it had been getting fixed.

It was still as muddy as when Jim dropped it off.....

Jim went to work, I went home, via Red Deer and the accountant's office.

Day 173. Tuesday, June 23

Jim's day 'off'.....he caught up on all the mowing that I fell behind on, and did some weeding -with the hatchet....

Andrew came over after supper to change his oil.....Jim helped when needed

Kathryn and Seth spent the afternoon with us while Vinj was at work....

We BBQ'ed steaks for supper.....so good on the charcoal grill.....Seth decided he wanted to cut his own meat....not real successfully, but he had the right idea.

Of course, Seth had loads of fun playing outside....

Seth was glad to see Grandpa when we picked them up in Camrose.

But maybe not quite as glad as Grandpa was to see him!

day 172. Monday, June 22

We stayed in Rocky last night and used Jim's first 'rain day' to visit Uncle Dale and Mom and Dad. We enjoyed the back yard, in spite of cool weather.

Dad had a hankering for a Dilly Bar so he and Jim went out and picked some up....

We each had TWO! Don't know if I've ever had two Dilly Bars at one sitting. LOL

Day 171 - Sunday, june 21

The day started with Robert, Michael, and Andrew playing in a ball tournament for Robert's branch of the ATB (bank). It was great fun watching ball again - it has been awhile.

To view the album I made from this event, click on this link for my facebook album.

I ended the day by driving to Rocky to rescue my husband....his truck was broke down (again) and he had a couple 'rain days'.

Day 170 - Saturday, June 20

A beautiful, hot, sunny day..... I spent the day at the soccer field....All three girls had their windup tournaments this day.

Day 169 - Friday June 19

Another day I neglected to take a photo - but I have plenty that have not been posted!

Here is our east field....Jim has babied those little trees since they sprouted from seed - rototilling around them, pulling weeds by hand....they are now big enough that the tractor does not damage them when we mow around them. Someday, maybe, they'll find a place in our yard.

Day 168 - thursday June 18

I neglected to take a photo today, so I'm using one from Sunday.....our poor old tow truck, again.

This truck was owned by my dad when he ran the New Norway Garage W-A-Y back when. We considered it to be a treasure and were heartbroken when it was destroyed in the field fire.

Day 167 - June 17 - Wednesday

I spent the afternoon with Kathryn today - she was feeling extra sick so I went over to help with Seth. We made some carrot soup for her to put in the freezer as well as some muffins and cookies.

Seth helped with the muffins.

Day 166 - Tuesday, June 16

No interesting events to report....but the lilacs are out in profusion - filling the air with their most wonderful scent! I thought it interesting how this particular bush looks like it has two different colored flowers on it. Of course, the whites are another bush growing along with the purples.

Day 165 - Monday, June 15

We met this morning for our Bible Study..... we had a very good discussion and prayer time.

Afterward, Arlene and I went out for a long overdue afternoon of visiting over lunch and then multiple glasses of water.

Day 164 - June 14 - Sunday

Two events today... the evening was spent helping Vinjelu and Kathryn hang shelves and do some reorganizing of their home.....

I spent the morning on the tractor, mowing the west field. I took several photos of the old tow truck that tragically was burned up in our fire several years ago.

Day 162.....Friday, June 12

Have I mentioned that the temperature has gone below freezing 3 nights in the last week or so? Since those who look at this blog are family, you probably know that. But did you know that the frost resulted in death in our family?

It is true.

Look at the poor peppers - I am not sure why one survived while the rest were killed.

The survivor rate among the tomatoes was ZERO. Even the asparagus is 'iffy' - I'm not sure if it is frozen or just not liking being transplanted.

The dandylions, however, do not seem to have been affected at all...

There are no tomatoes to buy at the greenhouse. Guess I'm not the only one who lost their plants.
Good thing I purchased 2 patio tomatoes May 1. I picked them up today.
Here is one of them - both already have fruit.

Day 161~ Thursday, June 11

My main activity for today was a visit with Mike, Victoria, and Kaden. Since Mike has been working at a new job (Carpet Cleaning) he is home every night for supper. This is a great blessing for his family and a bonus for us - a run up to their place for supper is easier when he is home for supper every night instead of just once.

Kaden loves to play hockey - and his dad is always happy to oblige him.

We went outside for a few minutes to check out their new grass.....Kaden stopped first at the picnic table and chairs that are just his size.

The new lawn looks great!

Day 160 ~ Wednesday, June 10

I spent the afternoon with Kathryn and Seth. Well, Seth was sleeping most of the time, and Andrew helped Kathryn run some errands while I listened for Seth.

When Andrew and Kath got back, and Seth woke up, there was some amusing Uncle/Nephew time going on....

Day 159 ~ Tuesday, June 9

We had an appointment in Red Deer this morning, so it was fortunate that Jim was home for the day. He had other things to worry about, however.....this is how we left the truck as we left for RD....

One of our errands in the city was to pick up a couple shocks for the truck. He will have to wait for Wednesday morning to get a piece welded than put the truck back together.

Day 158 ~ Monday, June 8

Jim came home by supper tonight. He'll be home until Wednesday morning.

Andrew came to have supper with us.

Day 157 ~ Sunday, June 6

Dan serenaded me with his violin before I left.

Actually, he wanted to play it one last time before I took it home with me. He did not want it left at the base for the 2 months he will be gone.

Being the driver on narrow, winding roads means that I cannot enjoy the beautiful scenery of Montana. So, I stopped a couple times to take a quick 'drink' of the beauty - and some photos.
This is part of the Flathead River.

As I neared Browning, the temperature dropped significantly.
In the pass, it was evident that snow had fallen during the night.
