Day 363....January 2, Saturday

We visited at Jim's mom and dad's today where we were happy to have a short time with Auntie Marian as well as with Uncle Dale and Auntie Eneken. After a few hours there, we also visited my mom and Maurice. We enjoyed a nice supper with them. (The photo is of Dad and Auntie Marian)

Day 225 Saturday August 15

After sleeping late, we rushed into Wetaskiwin to attend our great-nephew's 4th birthday party.

Donovan (Donny) Johnson, son of niece Jessica had lots of people come to share his special day.

Lana arrived, wearing a special tee shirt that Kathryn had bought for her.......

Here is Donny being shy (uncharacteristically) when his mom asked him to stand on the table and tell everyone thank you.....his Daddy Brock is standing in the background.....

Donny's Mommy....our hostess, Jessica.....

The kids wore party hats......

Some of the guests.....

Michael and Janice.......

Taliah, being admired by her Great Uncle Allan and her Great Gramma......

Kaden relaxes in Donny's new chair....

Janice and her youngest, Levi.......

After the party, Mike, Tor, and Kaden met Jim and I at Smitty's for supper. After we ate, Victoria taught me how to do a Sudoku puzzle (the one on the kid's coloring page)....

Kaden sucked on a lemon and made a silly face and laughed his 'chimpmunk laugh'. This amused his Papa quite alot......

After supper, we went to church - which was being held at the Christenson's acerage. Unfortunately, it was COLD for spending the evening outside. Even more unfortunate, many folks were camping out in their yard - in TENTS.
Taliah tried out her new snowsuit...but it was too big.....

Kath kept tabs on Seth by tieing him onto her back for awhile....

An eventful day, for sure. div>

Day 121. Saturday, May 2

Actually, a warm day.

Jim took the tractor out to the field in an attempt to mow down the long dead grass - reduce the risk of a prairie fire. He had to get off frequently to clean the grass out from around the engine so it would not over heat.

Mowing dead grass is dirty, dusty work, requiring some protection......

Vinjelu and Kathryn shared at their church tonight about Zambia and their plans for living there. My mom and my brother Kevin, his wife Angela, and their 3 younger boys came from Sylvan Lake to share the evening and learn about Vinj and Kath's plans.

Here is Mom with the 'Two Tituses'.....my nephew Titus (one of the twins) and my grandson Titus.....

Vinj dressed and cut his hair so that he was 'presentable' for church in Zambia. He looked downright 'pastorly'.

This is the only photo I took since I spent the rest of the evening looking after Seth or standing in the back in case Elizabeth (who was looking after Seth) needed me.
